About Hospi Housing
We are Hospi Housing: the platform for room and homestay rentals. Hospi Housing helps students and starters find an affordable room with hosts and guest families. We are a young, fast-growing social enterprise with plenty of room for initiative.
The role
As an operations & customer contact working student, you are the first point of contact for (new) hosts and landlords. They often still have questions: how does it work, is it allowed, and what about the legal side and other rules? You take that uncertainty away: you explain things calmly and clearly, and give just that little nudge to take the next step. No cold acquisition or pushy sales, but definitely commercial. We will teach you everything about the rental process. You will work in a small team, with one fixed office day per week in Utrecht.
What you'll do
- Conduct intake and verification calls with hosts and guest families, by phone and via video calls.
- Guide landlords through the process: explain how renting out works, what applies legally and in terms of regulations, and take away their concerns about safety and screening.
- Assist (potential) landlords by phone, WhatsApp and email, answering questions and following up neatly.
- Think along commercially: help landlords take the next step at the right moment.
- Follow up on leads and sign-ups and convert them into matches, with consistent and reliable communication.
- Handle customer contact around sign-up, matchmaking and the stay, spot bottlenecks and think along about improvements.
What you bring
- You are a student (Bachelor's/Master's) and available 8–16 hours per week, spread over at least 3 weekdays.
- You are enthusiastic and want to be part of the team.
- You are comfortable calling and texting, and keep an overview across many contact moments.
- You listen well and explain complicated things calmly and clearly.
- You sense when to inform, advise or (softly) sell.
- You take initiative and can work independently.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Prior knowledge of renting out or the rules is not required, we will teach you.
What you get
- €15 per hour, excluding holiday allowance and any travel expense reimbursement.
- A small team with short lines, a real startup.
- Lots of flexibility: we aim for one fixed office day per week in Utrecht (more is welcome), the rest flexible from home or remote.
- Room to take on extra tasks if you want to.
